Founded in 2010 by Anke Thommen & Sandrine Orabona, Storyform is a full service development and production company dedicated to creating high-quality branded and documentary content. Together, they combine decades of industry experience with an emphasis on taking a deeper and more multifaceted approach to filmmaking. At Storyform, we believe that media has the responsibility to inform, inspire and encourage positive social change. Sandrine Orabona
Anke Thommen
Sandrine Orabona is an Emmy award winning director and producer with a background in documentary film, television, and advertising. From acclaimed documentaries to high-end branded and commercial work, Orabona is drawn to highly personal, character-based profiles of extraordinary people.
Notable directing projects include Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 1 and 2 (Amazon Prime), Lady Valor: The Kristin Beck Story (CNN Films), The New West Coast Sound: An LA Jazz Legacy (PBS), and State of Play: First Ladies (HBO Sports). Orabona also shot the record-breaking film This Is It (Sony Pictures), which follows Michael Jackson in the final weeks of his life while preparing for his “This Is It” tour. Her brand work spans across a multitude of clients including Subaru, Allstate, Valentino, McDonald’s, Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal Studios.
Born in France and raised in Miami, Orabona speaks English, French, and Spanish and has worked both in the U.S. and abroad. Beginning her career at MTV Latin America, Orabona developed a passion for an eclectic array of musical genres, later going on to work with artists like Rihanna, Faith Evans, Ne-Yo, Shakira, SZA, Becky G., and The Foreign Exchange.
Orabona is the ‘story’ of Storyform and its creative heart. Her passion lies in distilling complex experiences into compelling narratives, whether that’s with a 90-minute documentary, a 3-minute music piece, or a 30-second TV spot.
When she’s not lining up the perfect shot, you can find her chasing the surf at her favorite local beach in Venice, California.
Anke Thommen is an award-winning executive and creative producer with extensive experience in live action, events, and digital media. She is hands-on at every stage of production, from stunning high-end automotive brand campaigns to moving and intimate documentary work.
Recent producing credits include documentary segments for Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 1 & 2 (Amazon Prime) and the Emmy award winning The New West Coast Sound: An LA Jazz Legacy (PBS). Anke serves as a trusted production partner for Subaru, and has produced impactful media content and broadcast spots for Mercedes, Just For Men, Google, Valentino, Sperry Topsider and DKNY.
Born in Germany, Anke studied philosophy at the University of Hamburg. Her love of culture and music later led her to produce iconic music videos and concert events with Outkast, Jay-Z & Beyoncé, Missy Elliot, 50 Cent, Madonna, Ricky Martin, and System of Down.
Anke is the ‘form’ of Storyform, and its strategic soul. Her sharp intuition, tenacious work ethic, and maverick approach make her an essential presence on set. Fluent in German and English, she thrives in a global industry with the fast pace and unique challenges filmmaking presents.
